Border Control Tycoon

Privacy policy

Border Control Tycoon · Effective 9 October 2026

The short version: the game collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the game never connects to the internet. This website uses Google Analytics only if you say yes. Your progress stays on your own device.

Who we are

Border Control Tycoon is made by Convert Case Ltd ("we", "us"), who are responsible for this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].

What the game collects

Nothing that identifies you. Border Control Tycoon:

Your saved game

The game saves your progress (your career, each border post's day, cash and upgrades, and settings such as sound) in a file on your device. It never leaves your device through us. Deleting the game deletes the save.

Your phone or tablet may include that file in its own backups: on Android, Google's backup to your Google account; on iPhone and iPad, iCloud or computer backups. Those backups are made by Google or Apple under the settings and privacy terms you have with them, so you can restore your progress on a new device. We cannot see them.

Device permissions

On Android the game asks for one permission, vibrate, for small haptic taps when you press buttons. It does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location.

Ratings and reviews

Now and then, after a promotion in your career, the game may ask your phone to show the store's own "rate this app" prompt (Google Play's in-app review or Apple's StoreKit review). The prompt is run entirely by Google or Apple. We do not receive anything from it except whatever you choose to post publicly in the store.

The app stores

When you download the game, Google Play or the Apple App Store process information about your download and device under their own privacy policies. They may share aggregated, anonymous statistics with us (such as install counts by country). We do not receive information that identifies you.

Children

Because the game collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either. There are no adverts, chat or links out of the game.

This website

This website (bordercontroltycoon.app) is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical information every web request carries (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. It shows no advertising.

Google Analytics, only with your consent. When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may count visits. Only if you choose Accept does the site load Google Analytics, which then sets cookies (_ga and _ga_MGHQCYMTFK, kept for up to two years) and tells us, in aggregate, how many people visit, which pages and parts of the page they use (for example the store buttons, starting the desk mini game and its score, and sharing), roughly where they are (country or city, worked out from the IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), what kind of device and browser they use, and which site sent them. We use it only to understand and improve the website; it is not used for advertising or to identify you. Google processes this data for us under Google's privacy policy and may process it outside the UK under standard safeguards. Our lawful basis is your consent. If you choose No thanks, nothing is sent to Google.

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; saying no removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site.

Your choice, and the passport desk mini game's best score and sound setting, are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only; clearing your browser's site data removes them.

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you, including the right to access, correct or delete it. Since we hold none from the game, there is normally nothing to access, but if you have emailed us you can ask us about that correspondence at [email protected]. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If the game ever changes what it does with data, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top. The current version always lives at this address.
